During his commencement speech at Stanford University, a wise man by the name of Steve Jobs said, “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
Whenever I hear this quote, I immediately think of neonatal nurses. It has been a year since I started working with the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN), and I have yet to meet a group of more passionate and inspiring individuals who are working together to change the world starting with the tiniest members of our population.

According to the Center for Disease Control, one of every eight babies is born prematurely each year in the United States. This harsh reality is comforted by neonatal nurses. The nurses that work the long hours, the night shift, and give a little bit of hope to the families. Neonatal nurses come from all walks of life, have different experience levels, and started their careers at different times, but they all are working towards the same goal, a preemie’s graduation from the NICU.
Our bloggers come from all walks of life as well; however they all share the same one demographic. They are all neonatal nurses from the younger generation; at the early stages in their career, and each and every one of them have the brightest future ahead of them.
